State Playoffs!
In Round One of the State Playoffs we faced the number two seed Archer. We defeated Archer in four sets to move on to the Sweet Sixteen. Facing our playoff rival, Norcross, the team was ready to knock them out of the playoffs yet again. The girls came to play and beat Norcross soundly 25-20, 25-22, and 25-7. On to the Elite Eight! Being a third seed, our path to the state finals would be a rough one. Our opponent in the Elite Eight would be Walton, who is ranked as one of the top three teams in the nation. Our ladies were not intimidated. They came to play and they came to fight! Each set our Longhorns were neck and neck with Walton through the fourteenth point. Unfortunately, Walton pulled away to win each set. It was an amazing season for this team! They faced so many challenges with injuries, illnesses, and distractions. They never wavered, they were focused, and they gave it everything they had!

Region Tourney Week!
Our varsity team team came in to the region tournament the second seed. The girls came out strong against Milton in the semifinals, but had a very tough five set loss 20-25, 25-22, 23-25, 26-24, and 11-15. This knocked us out of playing in the region championship for the first time in three seasons. We were able to easily take of West and come out of the region tournament as the third seed.
Week #9 and #10 Update
Our varsity team team faced off with South for the last regular season region match. We lost a heart breaker 23-25, 24-26, and 24-26. This is have us seeded second in the region tournament next week. On Thursday the team rebounded with big wins over Denmark and Woodstock. We had the pleasure of honoring our amazing seniors: MK Anderson, Haley Horton, Claire Richey, and Lael White.

Our JV team ended their regular season with a tough loss to South. On Saturday they traveled to Central for the JV Region Tourney. These girls showed how much they had grown with wins over nice wins over West and Central. They ended up losing to a tough Milton team in the semifinals. Great season for our girls and so much growth! Can't wait to see them on the court next season!
Week #7 and #8 Update
Our varsity team team had two big wins this week! We boosted our region record to 4-0 with a huge 3 straight set win over North Forsyth. On Thursday we had a victory over Mountain View. Being a fall sport, we weren't able to take the full fall break off. Our committed ladies cut the break short and came to put in time on Wednesday and Friday. Thursday we traveled to Alpharetta to take on Northgate and Alpharetta. We took care of Northgate with ease, but Alpharetta handed us a very tough loss.ur JV team lost to a tough North Forsyth team on Tuesday. They rebounded with a big win over Duluth and a very close loss to Norcross on Wednesday. It's hard to believe that this was the last week of our freshman season. These girls improved so much throughout their journey. They ended up placing fourth at the region tournament on Thursday.

Week #6 Update
Our varsity team boosted our record to 25-6 with a region win over Forsyth Central and non-region wins over Denmark and Norcross. Thursday was a wonderful night celebrating Ally Hall and Lael White for surpassing 1,000 career assists. We competed in the SVC Georgia Challenge on Saturday. We coasted through pool play beating Chattahoochee, North Hall, and Fellowship Christian. We eventually lost in the Gold Bracket to the eventual champions Walker. It was a good week, but we know we still have to keep our focus strong and our vision in sight.
Our JV team had a nail biter on Tuesday with a region match vs Central. The good guys prevailed in the third set in exciting fashion! I was so proud watching them fight. On Wednesday they beat Roswell and came up short with Etowah. On Saturday our JV played in the JV version of the All City Play Date. This play date has some of the best competition in the state and their pool was loaded with North Gwinnett, North Cobb, St. Pius, and Pinecrest. They ended the day 1-3 with a win over Pinecrest, but the energy and enthusiasm were great!
Our freshman team had a region play date on Monday. They beat South and lost in three to Milton and lost in two to West. On Wednesday they had close matches eventually falling to Denmark and Creekview. Saturday was the last 9th grade Power League Play date. They had a 3 very close losses to Denmark, Cambridge, and St. Pius. They were once again victorious over South. These girls are truly getting better with every game.

Week #5 Update
Our varsity team now sits at a record of 19-5 with a big region win over Milton and two non-region wins over Cambridge and River Ridge this week. Very proud of the grit and resiliency of this team!
Our JV team had a tough region loss to Milton on Wednesday. On Saturday they played in the Georgia Challenge and dominated pool pay with wins over Chamblee, Lakeside, and Roswell. They advanced straight to the Gold Bracket and faced a really good Allatoona team. They fought hard, but eventually lost a tight one with a score of 25-23 and 25-22. We are proud of you all!
Our 9th grade team improves each week! The team had a close loss to Dunwoody and a big win over Milton on Wednesday. Looking forward to watching you guys this week with region play at home!
Week #4 Update
Our Varsity won their first match on Tuesday making quick work of West in three straight sets. On Thursday we lost a close one to Alpharetta, but then rebounded to beat Roswell easily in two.
Our JV had a barn burner against West on Tuesday and took them to three sets. It was a tough loss for the girls but they fought hard the whole way through. West needs to look out once the region tournament is here though!
Our 9th grade team had a triple header on Monday. They came up a bit short against West and Milton, but had a HUGE win against South…..it’s ALWAYS a great day when you beat South.

Week #3 Update
Varsity kicked off the week with two wins over Mill Creek and Parkview on Thursday. The Mill Creek win was extra sweet as they were the team that knocked us out of the State Playoffs last season in the Elite Eight Match. On Saturday, varsity played in the All City Play Date. All City is arguably the most challenging event in the state with all of the top teams in all classifications attending. We were handed quite a schedule with Blessed Trinity, St. Pius, Walton, and Lassiter.....all powerhouses! Our Longhorns came out STRONG and handed Blessed Trinity their second loss of the season in three very exciting and well played sets. We came up short against St. Pius. Next, we had 2017 National Champions Walton. Our girls were absolutely amazing and gave them the best match of the day. We came short losing 18-25 and 24-26. Lassiter was the last match...another battle unfortunately losing 24-26 and 20-25. Even though we went 1-3 on the day, the growth of our team throughout the day was impressive. I'm hoping we can get everyone healthy and back on the court this week.
Our JV team had a tough schedule on Wednesday facing Alpharetta and Northview. They lost a hard fought battle against Alpharetta, but did a wonderful job taking care of Northview.
Our 9th grade team had a full week beginning on Monday with region matches against West and South. Although they were both losses, they were close matches. On Wednesday they came up short against a very good Alpharetta team and rebounded to beat Northview. Saturday brought more matches for our 9th grade at the Norcross Tournament. The girls played hard ending up placing second in the Silver Bracket with wins over Archer and Woodstock. Our girls are getting better and better!

Week #2 Update
-
Our varsity team had wins over Centennial and River Ridge on Thursday. On Saturday we competed in the SVC Kick Off Klassik Tournament. The girls grew so much and got better and better with each match. We ended up winning the tournament with big wins over Mt. Pisgah, Troup County, Warner Robins, Roswell, Milton, and Northside Columbus. The two set victory over Northside Columbus in the finals was extra sweet as they had knocked us out the previous weekend at the Sequoyah Tournament. It was a LONG day playing six matches from 8:00 in the morning to 7:45 in the evening, but it was so worth it seeing the girls with the first place trophy! J Varsity’s record now sits at 11-1!
